Sr. Laura Hughes

My role on the Board is as the representative of the Founding Congregation, the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception. Serving on this Board gives me the opportunity to continue participation in the Health Care Ministry at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and to work with a dedicated group of people who care for others and for their community. My background is in human resources and I have spent over 40 years in health care in New Brunswick and Saskatchewan. This has included sixteen (16) years at St. Joseph’s Hospital and (Atlantic Health Sciences Corporation) Horizon Health Network. I also continue to serve in the SCIC congregational ministry, including as Co-ordinator of Community Service at Ruth Ross and St. Vincent Residences in Saint John. I enjoy walking, reading and travelling to my home province of PEI to visit family and friends. I also appreciate keeping in touch with friends locally and in the west.
